I wondered why I couldn't sleep tonight. Then I realized -- it was exactly ten years ago that we threw the switch and presented the ravedata site to the world. Amazing how time flies, isn't it?

Recently, some folks have contacted me and expressed interest in the information that the ravedata site contained. From time to time I've toyed with the idea of bringing it back, only to be distracted by something else going on. I have to admit, I've been putting some serious thought into that idea lately. Specifically, I've been wondering if there's any further interest out there...

So, here's what I think... For now, I'd like to ask anyone that comes across the site to please, spread the word that we need help from those out there that have event information! Whatever factual contributions can be made (flyers, new event submissions, corrections, whatever) will help immensely and give me an indication that the effort should be made to bring the site back up. The first area to be worked on would be the massive amount of info that we've missed since the site went down.

The first thing I'll do is set up an intelligent "submission" form which will let visitors check to see a particular event is already in the system. If it isn't, a form will allow that event information to be entered and submitted. If I see an uptick in site traffic and some submissions trickling in, I'll go to work resurrecting the database and building out a new, smarter, more community-driven site around the database.

Thanks for visiting and taking the time to read this. I hope you visit again soon.
